INTRODUCTION

Digital media has become the main marketing, communication and sales channels for companies. Professionals who dominate digital communication (strategy, content, etc.) are one of the most demanded profiles, both by startups that begin their journey in the digital world and by companies that want to digitise their business structure. Therefore, recent graduates and professionals who wish to update their skills seek for master's degrees and postgraduate programmes that offer this knowledge.

The Master's Degree in Social Media and Corporate Communication represents a unique opportunity to train in these aspects. This master's degree will contribute to create professionals in the field of corporate communication with specialised and adapted knowledge to the digital and technological context, as required by the current and future labour market.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Master's Degree in Social Media and Corporate Communication is to offer students comprehensive training to develop a communication strategy in the company/organisation.

This general objective is broken down into the following specific objectives:

  • Understanding and implementing the fundamentals of corporate communication.

  • Collecting and analysing the relevant information of the environment and the digital audience for decision making purposes.

  • Developing a digital communication plan, using the most appropriate channels and content depending on the audience.

  • Training students in the relevant technologies for a better performance in their career.

STRUCTURE OF THE MASTER'S DEGREE

  • Compulsory: 36 credits

  • Elective: 12 credits

  • Master's Thesis: 12 credits

  • Total: 60 credits

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Master's degree is aimed at graduates in Business Administration and Management, Public Administration and Management, Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Tourism, and Advertising and Public Relations.

The Academic Committee of the Master's Degree may consider other degrees belonging to the field of social sciences, and also to that of technology, that do not require complementary training to gain access to the proposed degree.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

In order to access the master's degree students must hold an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area in the issuing country. If the demand exceeds the offer, the applications will be scaled in the following order:

  • 1. Academic record. The assessment of the academic record will be expressed in a scale ranging from of 0 to 10 and will be obtained from the average grade of the Degree with which the applicant accesses the master's, in line with article 5.3 of Royal Decree 1125/2003, which establishes the European credit system and the official university marking and validity system throughout Spain.

  • 2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) The applicant's CV will be assessed, especially in those aspects related to the work experience in the scope of the master's degree, ongoing training and the knowledge of foreign languages. The assessment criteria will be made by the master's Academic Committee. The assessment will be expressed in a scale ranging from 0 to 10.

The Academic Committee of the master's degree is the body responsible for the admission process of students to the master's degree and whose members are selected in the Academic Regulations and Student Assessment Regime of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
