Vera (València) Campus, Universitat Politècnica de València
The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (hereinafter MICCP) overlaps with the Master's Degree in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (hereinafter MIHMA) in the areas of hydraulic and environmental engineering; however, the former qualifies graduates to practice the regulated profession of Civil Engineer, while the latter is a specialization master's degree focused on the field of water engineering, not only from a professional but also from a scientific point of view. In this specific case, a student who wishes to acquire the professional skills to practice as a Civil Engineer and also wants a professional or research specialization in hydraulic and environmental engineering should take both master's degrees separately.
The proposal is designed so that a MICCP student, instead of taking the 120 ECTS of the MICCP master's degree and the 90 ECTS of the MIHMA master's degree, takes a total of 186 ECTS. The proposal is structured in the sense of MICCP > MIHMA, so that the non-qualifying master's degree (MIHMA) represents, for the student, an extension of their specialization in hydraulic and environmental engineering, with respect to what they have acquired in the qualifying master's degree (MICCP).
